Our Story

Signage, can be traced back to our roots, for generations. A nascent industry in the early 1900s but with the timely invention of the neon sign in 1910, signage flourished on the global scene, completely transforming urban cityscapes. One of the earliest regional witnesses to this emerging trend in the Arabian desert was a sign-board, bold and bright that adorned the Abu Dhabi skyline since the late 1970s. This historic sign was early work designed and meticulously hand-crafted by our founder, Mr. Yasin Merchant. Today, your journey through the Middle East cannot be complete, without spotting a sign built through Signtrade’s extensive network.

Our state-of-the-art corporate headquarters in Jebel Ali Free Zone, provides an expansive 200,000 sq. ft of temperature controlled, SAP automation enabled facility for real-time logistics and procurement management. With our flagship showroom in Dubai, over 50 sales and logistics centers region-wide and with a team of over a 200 highly-trained sales and service engineers, we continue to cater to the needs of the rapidly growing signage, graphics and textile industry.

Our History

A sign board, that stood fearless on the Abu Dhabi skyline, since the late 1970s, was one of the very early works of Signtrade’s founder, Mr. Yasin Merchant. Today, your journey is incomplete, without witnessing a sign, built through our extensive network.

Our Growth

Over the last three decades, our product line has enhanced considerably and today we are the sole distributors in the MENA Region & Pakistan, for a large number of world-leading signage technologies. 

Our operations are spread all over the Middle East, Africa and South Asia, with state of the art headquarters in JAFZA, UAE and a flagship showroom in Dubai, along with 22 branches, all connected seamlessly through a comprehensive logistics network.

2017
Region-wide Expansion
South Asia

Signtrade began its lowkey operations in Karachi, Pakistan, as early as 2003 but in 2017, it relocated to its newly designed, 7 floor facility; located on one of Asia’s most eminent roads in Karachi.

The same year, Signtrade entered into the textile industry, and in the following years’ expanded into the cities of Lahore, Sialkot and Faisalabad accordingly.

Signtrade International – JAFZA

In 2011, Signtrade International was first established in JAFZA, Dubai with a new 75,000 square feet facility.

In 2015, to facilitate the growing logistical and operational demands, Signtrade built its state-of-the-art 200,000 sq feet facility, in JAFZA South, just minutes away from the Dubai Expo 2020 site and the new Al-Maktoum International Airport.

Region-wide Expansion
African Expansion

In 2013, Signtrade expanded its operations as a gateway into the African markets, through a leading-edge, regional office, in Nairobi, Kenya.

Strategically placed, this expansive display center would showcase our innovative products and provide hands-on-training, acting as a regional hub for Africa.

Region-wide Expansion
Gulf Expansion

Signtrade expanded into the Gulf region, by starting operations in Muscat, Oman. In 2001, Signtrade established its first large regional office in Jeddah, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, with subsidiary branches opening later in Riyadh, Dammam, Madinah and Abha.

The Gulf expansion further continued with branch offices being established in Doha, Bahrain and Kuwait, in 2002, 2004 and 2015 respectively.

As the industry pioneer, Signtrade rapidly expanded its customer base through multiple facilities across the United Arab Emirates.
 
By 1999, Signtrade had established its first branches, with large display centers and logistic facilities, in the states of Abu Dhabi and Sharjah.

Signtrade Founded
On 7th Dec, 1987, under the leadership of its founder, Mr. Yasin Merchant, Signtrade was established as a Limited Liability Company by the Department of Economic Development, Government of Dubai. Following year, in January 1988, Signtrade began its operations through its first showroom, on Al-Maktoum Street, Deira.

Job Description:
As a Service Engineer for Large Format Printing Machines at Signtrade, your primary responsibility will be to install, repair, and service a wide range of Wide Format Equipment from top manufacturers. Working within a designated geographic territory, you will be dispatched to various job assignments based on the product and your level of experience. You will receive comprehensive training to make necessary mechanical or electrical repairs and provide preventive maintenance on all machines serviced.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Installation, service and Maintenance of Large Format Printing Machines from world-renowned manufacturers.
  • Provide on-site service, ensuring customer satisfaction.
  • Troubleshoot issues independently and make necessary repairs.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on serviced machines.
  • Collaborate with our customer base, ranging from large corporations to small and medium-sized businesses.
  • A minimum of 2 years of UAE experience is required.
  • Must possess a valid UAE driving license and have access to your own conveyance.
  • Willingness to travel within the MENASA territory for service calls.

Requirements:

  • Prior 2 years of UAE experience in large format printing machines is must.
  • An associate degree in electronics or comparable work experience or training is preferred.
  • Strong electrical and mechanical skills.
  • Proficient troubleshooting ability.
  • Strong independent thinking skills.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • High energy level and self-motivation.
  • A strong desire and ability to learn.

Your main responsibility will be to operate and manage the Barbieri Spectrophotometer, with the goal of calibrating and maintaining color profiles for various output devices, including printers and displays. You will closely collaborate with our production and design teams to attain the highest standards of color accuracy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate the Barbieri Spectrophotometer to profile output devices.
  • Create and maintain color profiles for printers, displays, and other equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and calibrate devices to guarantee consistent color reproduction.
  • Collaborate with design and production teams to meet color accuracy requirements.
  • Monitor and analyze color data to identify and rectify inconsistencies.
  • Stay updated on industry standards and best practices related to color management.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience with the Barbieri Spectrophotometer is required.
  • Strong knowledge of color theory and color management principles.
  • Proficiency in color profiling software.
